Dalemain Mansion is delighted to share with you a video that gets right to the heart of why the World’s Original Marmalade Awards & Festival are such a special and important event. Click here to watch: https://vimeo.com/153115592
Jane Hasell-McCosh discusses in the video the wonderfully individual charitableHomemade Awards, the ways in which the Artisan competition has enabled small producers to grow and flourish, with the judges this year representing the best in the food industry, and the new Young Chefs category, which provides an incredible opportunity for young people, with a prize of working with the Executive Chef at Fortnum & Mason.
Cumbria has come through the worst floods in living memory, but people are looking forward to a new season, with events like the Marmalade Festival providing visitors with wonderful experiences and brilliant memories.
Jim Walker, Board member of Cumbria Tourism and Chair of Eden Tourism Network comments "The Lake District has experienced one of the most difficult winters in living memory. Yet these problems have not resulted in people giving up, but spurred them on to work even more closely together than ever before to rejuvenate the destination for the 2016 visitor season. The Dalemain Marmalade Festival is one such example - for the first time branching out with events not only in Penrith but also at Rheged, all relevant to visitors and locals alike, coordinated by an impressive and broad based steering group. Another example is the new 'Ullswater Way' - a round the lake footpath route developed by a multi agency group due to be launched in spring 2016. We need to attract visitors back to the area quickly to sustain the local economy and initiatives like these will go a long way to do this."
The Festival will this year take place on the 19th & 20th March across three locations inCumbria and launches the 2016 Tourist season. Paddington will be there, so come along and show your support.
Please watch and share the video and help to spread the love of Marmalade.
