Penrith Goes Orange!

Marmalade, bears and all things orange… put a date in your diary for Saturday 18 March 2017, as Penrith celebrates the World’s Original Dalemain Marmalade Awards & Festival.

Penrith Goes Orange sees the town centre festooned in this brightest of hues and fizzing with market stalls, music and entertainment. It’s quite simply the stickiest day out in Cumbria – for humans and bears alike!

This free event gives you a glowing opportunity to taste and buy marmalades from some of the country’s best producers, along with quality artisan foods and crafts.

The event will also raise funds for the Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, with lots of opportunities throughout the day for the public to support this much-loved local charity

The town will be bursting with street entertainers, magicians, musicians, dancers and storytelling, with special activities for bears, too.

No celebration of marmalade would be complete without the chance to try some of the winning entries in the World’s Original Dalemain Marmalade Awards. The team from Dalemain will be on hand with a display that promises to bring a little taste of the mansion to Penrith.

Or why not jump on board our free shuttle bus and head out to the historic Dalemain for even more marmalade:

 - Attend the winners ceremony on the Saturday morning
 - See displays of all the marmalade awards entries, with lots to sample!
 - Join in Marmalade Question Time and talks
