As a six-year-old, Nick Hunt was almost carried away in a gust from the Great Storm of 1987. Almost 30 years later he sets off on a quest: to follow four of Europe's winds across the continent. His wind-walks begin on Cross Fell, the highest point of the Pennines, as he chases the roaring Helm, the only named wind in Britain. He has documented his travels in Where the Wild Winds Are, a beautiful, unconventional travelogue. Nick has walked and written across much of Europe. His articles have appeared in the Economist, the Guardian and other publications. His first book Walking the Woods and the Water, was a finalist for the Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year. Tickets £1 to include refreshments, available from Penrith Library 01768 812100
